Why has the US Justice Department done nothing to hold banksters accountable for their crimes.

I am a union member and I am happy that you did not support the Canadian American pipeline. We have to remember that we want to live in an environmentally sound country as well as have jobs. Remember the Gulf BPS fiasco! Thank you.

Mr. President, Reinforce the fact that you inherited this economic mess, that things are slowly improving under your leadership, and that it's going to take a long time to turn things around. Stick to your guns when it comes to helping the the very needy, to helping increase federal taxes on the very wealthy so that they pay their fair share, to making prudent cuts in defense spending and in the area of frivolous congressional "pork", and to defending Medicare and Medicaid while cleaning up the abuses done by individuals. You're a good man, and the majority of Americans, although not as vocal as the pathetic screamers, are behind you.

More than 10 years ago my husband went from one employer to the next. After being hired the employer would inevitably go out of business. Having a degree in Mechanical Engineering did not seem to help since industry was slowly losing hold in the U.S. with most employers moving outside the U.S. Eventually he was unable to even get a job since he was now closing in on his sixties. Of course, that would be hard to prove, but it was clear to all his colleages who were in the same boat. During this period I was able to get my degree and subsequent employment at UB. We need to see more industry back in the U.S. or we will never recover from this.

HUSBAND DIED IN 2008. FOUND OUT WHEN I RETIRE I WILL BE PENALIZED BY GPO AND WEP. PLEASE CONSIDER PASSING THE SOCIAL SECURITY FAIRNESS LAW. INSTEAD OF RECEIVING MY PENSION FROM SCHOOL DISTRICT AND HIS SOCIAL SECURITY, SOCIAL SECURITY WILL TAKE AWAY 2/3'S OF MY HUSBAND'S BENEFITS AWAY. I PAID INTO SOCIAL SECURITY ALSO FOR 11 YEARS AND TRS SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR 24 YEARS. I CAN'T RETIRE BECAUSE OF THE GPO/WEP REDUCTION. MANY OF US CAN'T. IF LAW WAS REPEALED MORE DISTRICT EMPLOYEES COULD RETIRE AND OPEN UP MILLIONS OF JOBS FOR NEW GRADUATES WHO ARE LOOKING FOR TEACHING AND EDUCATION JOBS. THANK YOU!

Hello President Obama, I am a veteran school teacher of 37 years, I feel it is time for our congress to straighten out the personal income tax code, so that it is equitable for all citizens. I reccomend a flat tax for all citizens. No matter what your income is we will all pay the same percentage of taxes to the federal government. Thank you for listening. Mrs. Julianne Lindsey

It has been a very hard year. I am worried about not making enough money to pay my bills and rent. What I would like to hear him talk about pay raises. I know that he is trying and he is fighting for the people against Congress. But if he keep trying he will be able to swing them over to his way of thinking.

President Obama has visited Martinsville, VA. I grew up in that area. Right now, Dupont, Bassett Furniture, Stanley Furniture, Martinsville Furniture, Tultex, and Fieldcrest Mills, plus other small businesses are the factories that have closed. There is basicaally nothing there but fast food restaurants. When are these jobs coming back to the United States of America? Do we have to boycott "MADE IN CHINA" to get our point across. We boycotted Easter shopping when Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. was alive.

Education 1. How to fund the staff required to run a school. 2. How to win the public over to see the value of public education vs private 3. How to provide for the increasing number of children that fall under the special education spectrum 4. Can Texas teachers and administrators expect additional help from the US for school funding since Perry does not want to help us?

To increase spending by consumers, a maximum 12.9%interest rate on credit cards should be implemented. Some rates are as high as 30% which is as close as being a loanshark.

I, at age 60, am working harder than when I started my professional teaching career 36 years ago! I teach full-time at a public university on Long Island, NY, am an adjunct instructor at another, and "moonlight" as a sports official. My family lives week to week on my salary. I have believed the lies of the 1% & foolishly borrowed from credit cards, refinanced my home several times, and have tapped into my retirement funds to stay afloat financially. Yet, I recognize that my family is one of the more fortunate ones in our society. Indeed, we are part of the 99%. I ask President Obama to address the issue of economic inequality in our society.

I would like for President Obama to make it clear to all Americans his accomplishments. He needs to make it clear about the terriorists by name that the world is no longer in fear of, and that he continues to remove our men from danger zones. He needs to emphasize his attempts to make tax fair and that tax loop holes need to be changed for an equitable plan for all.

Concerning the violence along the Texas-Mexico border that is spilling over into Texas in regards to the drug cartels. What are your plans Mr.President to stop this threat to American lives? Several Americans have been shot and killed along our border. American blood has been shed on American soil by a foreign enemy.

I would like the President to speak about the economy, education, healthcare, foreign affairs. This is the time for the President to let the American People know of all the things he has done for the American People's benefit because his oppositioners make it appear that he has not done well at all. I realize that he doesn't like to boast but he does not have to; just tell the truth.

I would like the president to confront Republican's failure to provide infrastructure funding by refusing to pass the Jobs Bill. Yet, they say the President chooses the environment over jobs in negating the XL Pipeline. They're duplicitous in their message, and they need to be called out.

Shame on the U.S. for not supporting education. Stop taking money from education. We owe this to our kids a decent education!!!!!We need more jobs and less cuts, and afordable health care that we all can afford. If we can't afford the benefits we are not able to visit the doctor's office.

Support public sector collecting bargaining, support public education and support school and public libraries. These made our country great. Let us not fall into the few educated 'haves' and those many semi-educated 'have nots'!

Jail for the criminals in banking who ruined our economy. WPA Style Jobs Program reconstructing our infra structure to get the young out of poverty. A progressive tax code to make the 1% pay what they owe this country for their riches. Audit the military/industrial/congressional complex, end the war economy, create a Department of PEACE, and put the tax money into supporting education, a single payer health system, providing FOOD for the nearly 30% Americans who go hungry every night. Jail all of the war criminals who lied us into the war in Iraq and were involved in torture. Restoration of habeus corpus. End the rape of the environment.

I have had my meager teacher's salary cut by 2 per cent for the past three years, while the CPI in my area has gone up by more than 8 per cent in just the most recent year. I have had my health care costs skyrocket, which constitutes an even further cut in my income. I am paying double the tuition for my younger daughter to attend the University of California as what I paid for my older daughter eight years ago, and the cost continues to rise every year. Close the tax advantages for corporations, raise their taxes, and refund public institutions. End this corporate robbery of our assets: our pensions, public lands, schools, etc. NOW!

My wife & I taught special education for a total of 54 years. We paid 4% of our wages to create a fund to pay for cost of living increases based only on the original (first year) amount. Our governor chose to ignore our state constitution and tax our pensions. This new tax will kill the benefit of our financial sacrifice through-out our retirement years. We strangely have no recourse. He chose to give a 1.8 billion dollar tax break to big business here in Michigan on the backs of teachers. Out sourcing is the norm in our state at this point as far as I can tell. How could someone who killed jobs where he was the leader, help Michigan?

I would like to see a proposal to remove the preferential tax treatment for dividends and capital gains. I would like to see a proposal to tax all of the undistributed earnings of corporations at the top individual tax rate. I would like to see a restoration of the 70% estate tax rate on large estates and the 70% income tax rates on all income in excess of one million dollars per year. I would like to see a 1% annual excess wealth property tax placed on individuals, corporations, and trusts with values in excess of one million dollars at the end of the year. The concentration of wealth in the hands of too few people is destructive.

Don't let the Republican obstructionists bully you on Wall Street, banking, and healthcare reforms. Wall Street plundered the money I scrimped to put aside for my IRA and retirement investments for years before I had to retire from teaching. I planned by the rules to supplement my meager teacher's pension, and I was simply robbed by deregulations. Once you are old, society casts you aside and takes advantage of you. The very young, the old, and the poor are easy targets for the GOP gluttons. I chose a career of 32 years of public service in hope to make the world a better place only to be kicked in the teeth by GOP financial shenanigans.
