Housing Information

Online hotel reservations are now available! To get the conference hotel rate, reservations must be made through the AFT TEACH registration and housing system. Do not contact the hotels directly. Requests will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis. The cut-off date for reservations is Monday, June 17. After that date, rooms may not be available at the AFT TEACH rate. No phone reservations will be accepted. You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your hotel reservation once it has been approved by AFT TEACH Housing.

All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card or be accompanied by a first night room deposit. If you wish to pay your deposit by check, please wait until you receive e-mail confirmation that your reservation has been approved. You may then mail a check, made payable to your assigned hotel, to AFT TEACH Housing, 555 New Jersey Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001.

Hotel reservation changes, additional reservations, substitutions and cancellations may be made online or may be e-mailed to Yvonne Cheek at TEACHhousing@aft.org on or before June 17. Hotel reservation changes, substitutions and cancellations made after June 17 must be e-mailed to Yvonne Cheek at TEACHhousing@aft.org. Cancellations must be received by AFT at least 72 hours prior to the arrival date in order to avoid being charged by the hotel for one night’s room and tax.

Please note that rooms may not be available before check in time. If you arrive earlier, your luggage may be stored at the Bell Desk until your room is ready.

Special Instructions for Affiliates

Affiliates are encouraged to immediately request the number of rooms needed for their delegations by submitting a room block request through the affiliate group registration page of the online registration/housing system. You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your room block request is approved. Using the room block code in that confirmation, affiliates may then enter individual reservations online, or provide the room block code to participants to make reservations online individually. All block reservations must be submitted by the June 17 deadline. After that date, all unassigned rooms will be released. Questions about room blocks can be e-mailed to Karen Zook at kzook@aft.org.

  • Well-appointed convention hotel in a park-like setting located atop the Woodley Park-National Zoo Metro subway stop.
  • Hotel is 100% non-smoking.
  • Rooms have either one king-size bed or two double beds. Children under 18 are free in room with parents (using existing bedding). Roll-away beds are available at no charge but must be requested in advance.
  • Outdoor swimming pool. Deluxe health club facilities accessible with guest-room key.
  • Daily self parking: $35 with in/out privileges.
  • Internet access available for $12.95 per 24-hour period.
  • Room service hours are 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • All major credit cards accepted.
  • Check-in time, 4 p.m.; check-out time, noon.

  • Landmark hotel located across the street from the Marriott Wardman Park at the entrance to picturesque Rock Creek Park.
  • Rooms have either one king-size bed or two queen beds. Children under 18 are free in room with parents (using existing bedding). Roll-away beds are $25, plus tax per night and can only be placed in king-bedded rooms. Must be requested in advance.
  • Outdoor heated resort pool. Complimentary fitness center.
  • Valet only parking: $38.94 overnight.
  • Internet access available for $9.95 per day plus tax.
  • Check-in time, 3 p.m.; check-out time, noon.
