AFT President Randi Weingarten To Discuss Education Reforms That Work At Aspen Institute's National Education Summit
WASHINGTON–Education reform that is sustainable, collaborative and supports shared responsibility and accountability is the formula for strengthening public schools, AFT President Randi Weingarten will say Monday at the Aspen Institute’s National Education Summit.
Speaking on one of the education summit’s panels, Weingarten will discuss the crucial importance of collaborative efforts among teachers and their unions, school districts, parents and communities to raise student achievement. She also will outline the AFT Innovation Fund—a just-announced initiative to support innovations generated by AFT members and their unions. It will incubate promising ideas, promote proven programs, support risk-taking, and share responsibility for student outcomes.
