Robert G. Porter Scholar Award Winners

CHICAGO – The winners of four $8,000 scholarships were announced today at the American Federation of Teachers convention held in Chicago July 11-14.

The Robert G. Porter Scholars Program each year offers four scholarships to support AFT members' dependents (graduating high school seniors) who intend to pursue a career in labor, education, healthcare or government service.

The AFT represents more than 1.4 million pre-K through 12th-grade teachers; paraprofessionals and other school-related personnel; higher education faculty and professional staff; federal, state and local government employees; nurses and healthcare workers; and early childhood educators.
