Pass the Jobs Act Now

President Obama's proposal to invest in jobs and programs that will rebuild our nation is badly needed. The package will help provide good jobs that support families; public services that build communities; and resources for schools to provide students a high-quality and robust education in safe and healthy buildings.

The president has made it clear that the path to a brighter future is through education. His plan includes $30 billion to prevent the layoffs of as many as 280,000 teachers and other educators, and another $25 billion to repair and modernize 35,000 public schools, which, in turn, will create thousands of jobs. "We can't expect our kids to do their best in places that are literally falling apart," Obama says. "Every kid deserves a great school—and we can give it to them."
